Transcriber doesn't collect anything.

What Transcriber does with your files
Transcriber transcribes video and audio files entirely on your Mac using Apple's on-device speech recognition. The files you open, and the transcripts made from them, never leave your computer. Exports and project files are written only where you choose to save them.
What Transcriber collects
Nothing. Transcriber has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It does not transmit your files, transcripts or any personal data to us or to anyone else.
Speech models
The first time you transcribe a language, macOS downloads Apple's speech model for that language from Apple. That download is handled by macOS under Apple's privacy policy; your audio is not part of it.
Updates
Transcriber checks beardfm.app for new versions using the open-source Sparkle framework. That request carries the app's version and your macOS version so the right update can be offered, and nothing else. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.
Settings
Your preferences (language, subtitle limits, export options) are stored locally on your Mac and nowhere else. Project files remember where their media file lives with a bookmark that stays on your Mac.
