HomePad doesn't collect anything.
Last updated October 17, 2026
What HomePad does with your home
HomePad shows and controls the accessories, scenes and cameras you have already set up in Apple's Home app. It reads them through Apple's HomeKit framework on your iPad and sends your taps, such as turning a light on, straight to HomeKit. Nothing about your home is sent to us or to anyone else.
Home access
The first time you open HomePad it asks for permission to access your Home data. That permission is managed by iOS and can be changed at any time in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Home. Without it, HomePad has nothing to show.
Cameras
Camera tiles play the live stream that HomeKit provides. HomePad does not record, store or forward video or snapshots.
What HomePad collects
Nothing. HomePad has no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no servers of its own. It makes no network requests except those HomeKit makes on your behalf to reach your accessories.
Settings and layouts
The screens you design, the tiles on them, your wallpaper choice and a wallpaper photo you pick are stored locally on your iPad and nowhere else. Deleting the app deletes them.
Photos access
If you choose a photo as your wallpaper, HomePad uses the system photo picker, which gives it a copy of only the photo you select. It never reads the rest of your library.
App Store
Apple may share anonymous, aggregated statistics with developers (such as download counts) and, if you opt in on your device, crash reports. That is controlled by Apple and by your own device settings.
